I actually took the photos at the Fun Crowd Freak Out on 27 January 1969 - the semi final of the "2UW Bands to watch in 69" contest which Flake eventually won.
The lineup was (from left) Mick Gaul, Wayne, Sharon, Geoff, Lindsay and Rob Toth. Do you like the low-tech pan photo with the join between the two prints?
Those pix are excellent. I remember playing at Kyeemah that day. They had a pissy little generator
that went slower the louder we played, thus making Rob’s Hammond pitch lower (tonewheels going slower). That’s
probably why some of us seem to have puzzled looks on our faces. We kept checking tuning after each song and finding
it ok, then when we ripped into it, it was all off again. Took us a little while to work out what was going on.
